"Though technically in a night market, this third-generation family business is only open from dawn till dusk. Since 1973, the regulars have been returning for its steamed sticky rice that is chewy but never mushy. Year-old aged rice is mixed with fried scallion and garlic before steamed with lean or fatty pork. It tastes best with homemade sweet chilli sauce and spicy radish sauce. Also try the oyster soup steeped in umami and plump oysters." - Michelin Inspector

A local shop with good cost performance. I ordered the rice with fatty meat. There was a thin layer of fatty meat on the top. The rice was not too soft and had a bite to it which I didn’t mind. There is a sweet and spicy sauce in the larger plastic tub as well as a pickled green and chili sauce in the smaller plastic tub. I recommend trying a bit of both but if you can withstand spicy food, the o e in the smaller plastic tub is absolutely incredible. I also ordered the oyster soup and it was okay. If you are happening to be in the area then this is a good cheap eats but I wouldn’t travel far for just this.

The renowned Michelin-starred restaurant offers Taiwanese-style rice cakes that are comforting to the palate. The rice has a delightful stickiness, and I recommend trying it with the sauce for an enhanced and delicious experience. The place is bustling with many satisfied customers, offering a diverse menu. The Taiwanese-style rice cake is priced at 40 NTD.

I don’t eat liver but I ate the liver and pork blood soup here because I heard it was delicious and indeed it was. The gong won soup was also superb.

Interesting pig's blood soup. If you have never tried pig's blood before this one it's a good choice for first trials because it's fresh and tasty, and don't have any porky smell. The rice cake it's also delicious too. I prefer the fat one cuz the oil will soak the sticky rice make it melted in your mouth. I love to put spicy sauce to break the sweetness of the sauce.

They have two rice cake options, fat meat and lean meat, and I ordered the lean one. Unlike other rice cakes I've eaten before, the rice here isn't very sticky, and I actually pretty like it. Take cash only. Self-service. Order before finding a seat.

Tasty traditional Taiwanese rice cake with the pork liver soup. But I'd wish they wouldn't add so much MSG as my mouth was dry and I was thirsty all afternoon.

The flavor is quite common in Taiwan, you can get the similar ones everywhere. The soup tasted good at the first sip but later you can feel something stuck in your tongue, which means MSG was added. On the other hand , the pig blood tofu was good because there was no stinky smelling. Overall, it was a between normal and tasty meal for me. Not bad but won’t go there again. Waiting in lines doesn’t equal to get amazing food.

Yelp
Incredibly flavorful broth--I highly recommend trying the soup with oysters and pork liver. The broth is clean yet deeply flavorful, perfectly balanced with salty, seafood, and warm and gingering. It's just so satisfying. The portions are generous, with plenty of protein in the soup. I also tried the soup with fish balls, rice, and egg. They were all very solid, but the oyster and pork liver soup really stood out. I believe this place is Michelin-recommended and very popular with locals, so be prepared for a bit of a line. However, it moves quickly, and the communal tables clear up fast, making it an efficient and enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
*** Closes on Tuesday *** Da-Qiao-Tou Tube Rice Pudding was established in 1973 and is located near Yansan Night Market (延三觀光夜市). This eatery received the Michelin Bib Gourmand designation from 2019 to 2024 ( https://guide.michelin.com/tw/en/taipei-region/taipei/restaurant/da-qiao-tou-tube-rice-pudding ). [How to get here]: Approximately 4-minute walk from the Taipei MRT Daqiaotou (大橋頭) station. [Hours]: Opens daily from 7 AM to 4 PM EXCEPT Tuesday. [How to order & amenities]: Self-serve - place your order at the front counter and bring your food to any available table. They also sell their own spicy radish sauce in bottles. A single line for both dine-in and takeout + one unisex restroom is available for customers. Both sweet chili sauce and spicy radish sauce are provided on the table and customers can add as much of each condiment as they like. [Menu]: There is no English-friendly menu, but each steamed sticky rice dish comes with a choice of fatty pork (肥肉) or lean pork (瘦肉). For the best of both worlds, customers can go for a combo (one fatty pork and one lean pork). Google reviews highlighted the pork liver and pig blood soup 雙豬 (豬肝豬血) 湯 and the mixed meat ball and fish ball soup 綜合丸子湯. *** Steamed sticky rice combo 綜合 (one fatty pork and one lean pork - 80 NTD): Decent sticky rice and I preferred the fatty pork option. Customers can add their own sweet chili sauce which really add an extra layer of the flavor (I poured a LOT of sweet chili sauce - too good). The spicy radish sauce was a bit too spicy for my taste, but it tasted pretty good. Mixed meat ball and fish ball soup 綜合丸子湯: I sampled the broth and it was amazing with s-tier umami flavor. *** Definitely worth a stop! Don't just try the steamed sticky rice - do yourself a favor and order the fish ball or meatball soup as well. P.S. - There's a second location in Datong District 大同區 (No. 113, Section 2, Chongqing N Rd, Datong District, Taipei City, Taiwan 103).
