We took the shuttle at Sendai station (ground door) to the resort. The scenery on the way was just tranquil like in a movie about spending a summer in the rural countryside. We were hosted by kind uncles and aunties during our stay. I called the front desk to adjust the onsen temperature in our room. A professional onsen technologist showed up with a needle thermometer to make sure the temperature was optimal. Dinner so good and beautiful. Loved the tatami floor. We stayed at 月影 and 旭。 both have outdoor deck and 緣側 with great garden view.

A short bus ride from Sendai Station (by another hotel's bus) brings you to the Saryo Soen. First impression of the grounds is amazing, welcoming staff are gracious and professional. First impression of the facility was good, large, airy and clean. The hallway carpets, however, were stained or sun-faded and took away from the overall sense of a first rate ryokan. Our room was clean with tea maker, mini-fridge and interesting wood Japanese soaking tub--and of course the tatami mats.||||Our delicious food was served in our room and our assigned server was professional and very sweet. She spoke next to no English (and we speak little Japanese), but she would bring little notes to ask us questions and clearly went out of her way for us and did an excellent job!||||The onsen facility is outstanding! The outside hot spring is the best, clean comfortable and lined with lovely trees, rocks and shrubs.||||A Japanese friend booked out 3-night stay for us as their website was in Japanese. This ryokan is not inexpensive, but if you want to experience a traditional ryokan, go for it! Walking around the area was easy and interesting with a very helpful tourist information center a 10-minute walk away staffed by English-speakers.

Gorgeous onsen--both in atmosphere, staff, and food. The bath and rotenburo were exceptionally lush, natural, and of course, spotless. Had meals in our room (standard in high-end ryokan) and it did not disappoint. The grounds were absolutely amazing but it was just a shame that you could only really experience them from your room (access outside the room but wandering was discouraged to ensure privacy of other guests). And of course the staff were incredible. Highly recommend (and, contrary to another reviewer, there IS free Wifi but it is just in the lobby where I think it should only be since it is a crime to get caught up in such modern conveniences when there is so much to take in)!

This is a nice hotel with excellent service. The atmosphere of the hotel is very peaceful and warm. The Yuugiri room that we stayed has a nice view of the garden. The food is very delicious and good quality. The public onsen is beautiful. The most memorable of our stay is the service of this hotel from entry to the hotel through departure. We do recommend for people who want to have a romantic and excellent service hotel in Sendai.

This was a very beautiful place where the hallway was meticulously made to enjoy every garden scenery. Our kids loved running up and down the hallway because it was a maze to get to one point from another, but I'm sure that was not the intention. The the service was impeccable and the food was amazing. One thing that makes it 4 stars instead of 5 is, it is for young people or people who are in good shape. My parents had a hard time walking up and down stairs as there is no elevator for guests.

We loved every minute of our stay at Saryo Souen! The service, the food, the vibe, everything was amazing. The best part was the outdoor hot spring bath attached to our room... nothing less than perfection 🥰

Food was immaculate and the service was outstanding. There is no wifi for customers. It is very quiet and comfortable. The private rooms had a private onsen. Excellent stay! The dinner is in your room and served with immaculate care.

Food here is amazing In room dinner is way better than in room hot spring (because of no view) It’s a High end resort but not as super good as the super price🙂 Overall service is wonderful except the cleaning man unexpectedly showed up at the bath area while having dinner....quite scary
