Hands down, one of the best breakfast spots. Super easy on the stomach, comforting, and just hits right, especially in the morning. It’s crazy popular, so waiting on-site is pretty much guaranteed. But honestly? Totally worth it. We ordered one bowl of kalguksu and one abalone porridge—skipped the dumplings—and the portions were more than enough. The side dishes are simple, but the flavors are deep and legit. Even the banchan deserves a shoutout. It was chilly today, and the kalguksu broth felt like it was warming me up from the inside out. I’m 100% coming back.

Absolutely loved this place! My partner and I arrived around 1 PM on a Friday and waited about 25 minutes to be seated. There are three main options: 보말칼국수 (bomal cut noodles), 보말죽 (bomal porridge), and 물만두 (boiled dumplings)—all served with 반찬 (side dishes). The noodle broth is wonderfully glutinous from the wheat and comes with a generous amount of sea shells. The dumplings are perfectly cooked. Both are mild, cozy, and pair beautifully with the banchans, which add just the right amount of salt and spiciness. The kimchi here is the best I’ve had in Jeju. Visiting Korea after many years away, this meal really made me feel at home. My American partner enjoyed it just as much!

I can understand the hype. Went around 1pm on a weekday lunch and there was still a queue, but it was worth the wait. You had to key in your Korean number to get into the queue but the owner was super friendly and keyed in his number to give me a queue number and told me to come back in 60min, so don’t worry even if you don’t have a Korean number. They only have 3 items on the menu, so you know they really hone in on their craft. They serve delicious bomal kalguksu (sea snail noodles), sea snail porridge and dumplings. Their signature bomal kalguksu is a must try as it’s not something you can easily find elsewhere. Comforting and delicious, soup was thick and not surfeiting, flavourful but not too fishy. Love their banchan too, in particular their radish. Service was good, place was clean and staff were very attentive and helpful too :)

Jeju-style kalguksu made with noodles kneaded using “bommal,” a local sea snail unique to Jeju. They serve both kalguksu and porridge, but if I had to choose just one—definitely the kalguksu.

I’m not a fan of kalguksu but this by far is one of the best that I wish I could eat more Broth is deep and an incredible aroma And the noodles has a soft and chewy texture that was amazing

One of the best meals I had in Jeju. The fact that there are only 3 items on the menu - noodles, porridge and boiled dumplings - speaks volumes about the quality of food. The kalguksu broth had such a deep flavour and was packed with umami, which went perfectly with the hand made noodles. The porridge tasted a bit lighter than the kalguksu, but was nonetheless delicious in its own way. The dumplings were simple but so addictive that we got another serving. There’s a reason why this restaurant is a local favourite. Side note: the kalguksu and porridge are both cooked with bomal (sea conch) so beware if you are allergic to seafood.

Price is cheap and it's really tasty. If you are taking your car make sure to find the parking near by. Usual wait time is around 30min but I think it's worth it.

Only restaurant that required a queue during our trip. Ticketing We went at around 12:00 to get a ticket, and was told the queuing time is around 1 hour, so we went to the Jungmun Daepo Columnar Joints 중문대포 주상절리 first. Our ticket number has passed already after coming back at 13:00, but the staff still let us in. User-friendly ticketing system. Food We ordered the 2 signature dishes - noodles & congee. Delicious and quite cheap too. Very good value for money.
