"Home to the Bavarian State Parliament The Bayerischer Landtag (Bavarian State Parliament) is housed in the Maximilianeum, an impressive, palatial building at the end of Maximilianstrasse on the border of Haidhausen, overlooking the Isar River. Construction first started on the building in 1857. It has undergone numerous additions since. Stop by in the evening when it's lit up and particularly impressive."
Kosy*s
Cafe · Haidhausen
"A Cozy Cafe This tiny cafe is a favorite with locals, many of whom are greeted by name by the friendly owner. It's packed full of knick-knacks, chocolates, and other homemade delights. The tight quarters mean that guests often start up conversations with each other—the perfect way to brush up on your German. Kosy's doesn't have a website, but the one below states its opening hours."

"Munich's Cultural Center Gasteig is Munich 's cultural center. It hosts the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Richard Strauss Conservatory, the Volkshochschule (continuing education courses) and the large municipal library which has a section of English language books. There are a variety of events happening there daily from concerts, to lectures, to book readings, to theatrical performances. Most of the performances are conducted in German, but the musical performances are something that everyone can enjoy. There is also a cafe, a restaurant, and a few small unique shops on site."

"One of Europe's Most Beautiful Swimming Pools Münchners love to be active, so why not go local and for a swim in Munich 's most stylish swimming pool, the Müller'sche Volksbad? The baths and showers in the Volksbad date back to a time when having your own bathroom was a rare occurrence, retaining the history but indulging you in luxury. There are also sauna facilities, with the Roman steam bath being the highlight. Relax afterwards in the Volksbad Cafe."
"Under the Bridge Graffiti When you think of graffiti, in Germany , you usually think of Berlin, not Munich , but under the Ludwigsbrücke (bridge) you can find a small, but impressive wall of graffiti paintings—proof that Munich is hipper than people give it credit for. Continue walking and you'll enjoy nice views of the Isar River."
Museum Lichtspiele
Movie theater · Au
"Movies in English Munich's second-oldest cinema, built in 1896, has a cult following. Films are played in the original language, so there is a good selection of English language films. But it's perhaps the theater itself that's even more interesting than the movies. It houses four themed small cinemas, with decor like you've never seen before. Reservations are available online and recommended on weekends or for popular films."
