Centro Barsha

"How did it strike you on arrival? It looks generic but this centrally located Dubai hotel has all sorts of perks for the budget-minded business or pleasure traveler, including its location that's walking distance to a metro station and Mall of the Emirates. The clean, comfortable lobby offers a convenience store. Nice. What’s the crowd like? Most travelers are business people or holiday-seekers on quick layovers. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Rooms are spacious and comfortable, decorated with generic modern furniture and neutral tones. A little bland compared to what you expect in opulent Dubai, but a good value. Beware of your room choice: soundproofing is an issue, and rooms facing the adjacent mosque will experience early morning wake-up calls. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Beds are small but comfortable. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Rooms are basic with 32-inch TVs, tea and coffee, complimentary bottled water, hair dryers, and an iron. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Glass-walled bathrooms can disturb traveling companions late at night, but are otherwise clean and modern. Only shower gel and shampoo is provided, so pack your own toiletries. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Techies (or those traveling on business) will appreciate the powerful Wifi throughout the property. Room service: Worth it?The room service menu is limited, but food comes quickly and is usually fresh. Beware: it’s served in take-out containers, so if you’re expecting white-tablecloth dining, this isn’t it. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?Staff always has a smile on their face and is always willing to go above and beyond to help—it’s service that you’d expect from a luxurious resort rather than a budget-friendly property. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The property’s secret is the small rooftop pool where free towels and ample sunbeds make it the perfect place to cool off after a long day in the blazing Dubai heat. Bottom line: worth it, and why?If you’re expecting a basic place to rest your head in Dubai, Centro Barsha, with its clean rooms, convenient location, and friendly staff will exceed your expectations."
