"How did it strike you on arrival?Befitting its cool downtown neighborhood, Sixty SoHo feels fresh, just a bit trendy (contemporary portrait photography, edgy coffee table books everywhere, sleek and modern furniture), and an antithesis to the sober, neutrals-only look you'll mostly find uptown. What’s the crowd like? You'll find all types here, but more often than not, 30- something creative types who love the downtown location and cool surroundings. Importantly: Tell us about your room.A mix of textures, fabrics, and colors combine to create a just-edgy-enough guest room, with wood plank floors, artwork by Brit Harland Miller and a blue velvet sofa that's big enough to lay down on. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The bed uses 300-thread count linens custom made for the hotel and is very comfortable. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention? The minibar is a good one, stocked with Ketel One, Patron, and Knob Creek, among other treats. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms are admittedly small, and the shower isn't the roomiest in the world either, but the Martin Margiela bath products almost make up for it. We all need some good Wi-Fi. What’s the word on that?Decent, free Wi-Fi. Anything stand out about other services and features?Bistro Leo, the hotel’s main restaurant, serves a selection of both classic and modern French fare, while the Butterfly lounge is an intimate spot for drinks. Don’t miss a visit to the A60 rooftop to enjoy stellar views with your cocktails. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The small bathrooms could be a deal breaker for some and don't seem to fit the standard of the rest of the hotel. But the cool design and otherwise big enough bedrooms balance things out (as does the perfect downtown location). Bottom line: worth it, and why?The hotel feels like a private club rather than a hotel—booking a room makes you an automatic member. Plus, just outside the door is the best of downtown New York City, full of shopping, restaurants, cafes, and galleries." - John Wogan
