"Oath Pizza has created a crab-topped pie for the debut D.C. location the New England chain is scheduled to open on Monday, April 9. The expansion-minded eatery put down roots in the area last fall, planting its first store outside of its native Boston at the Mosaic District complex in Northern Virginia. In addition to serving some of the grilled pizzas seasoned with avocado oil available at many of its existing restaurants, Oath developed the 'Crabby Old Baystard' ($13.50 for a full serving; $8.25 for a half portion) for the new shop at 110 M Street SE. The seasonal offering, which is projected to stick around until July, includes lump crab meat, Old Bay seasoning, ricotta, Old Bay-spiked aioli, scallions, and lemon. There’s also a pair of salads — the house version combines lettuce, grape tomatoes, and oregano vinaigrette, while a spring selection works in peas, roasted asparagus, and white beans — as well as eight specialty pizzas (everything from a pork-packed pie to a basil-tomato blend) plus make-your-own options. Management plans to donate 10 percent from sales of the crab pizza to local charity DC Central Kitchen." - Warren Rojas
