City of Austin’s COVID-19 Relief Plan for Restaurants and Live Music Venues | Eater Austin

"This performing arts center is serving as the coordinator and fiscal manager for the Austin Live Music Venue Preservation (ALMVP) Fund, administering applications and disbursing emergency and enhanced grants on behalf of the city in partnership with the City of Austin Economic Development Department. The fund is being distributed in two phases: immediate emergency grants of $20,000 for venues at risk of permanent closure (with access to follow-up services such as real estate, accounting, and legal assistance), and an enhanced funding phase that can provide up to an additional $140,000 pending evaluation and approval. Enhanced recipients must submit strategic equity plans addressing systemic racism and outlining diverse programming and workforce development, and approved awards are paid monthly (capped at $40,000 per month). The program targets live music venues in Austin council districts that have seen significantly reduced operations since March 2020 and that have followed COVID-19 mitigation measures, and the center is acting as the local hub to process applications and coordinate grant oversight." - Nadia Chaudhury
