"Mexikosher is closing tonight, right at sundown. The restaurant had a mostly happy eight-year run along the kosher corridor of Pico and Robertson. Mexikosher was an early hit for Top Chef player Katsuji Tanabe, drawing fans for its inventive kosher takes on Mexican food. Though the restaurant wasn't much to look at, it became a community hub for those seeking quality, culturally-aligned meals. Tanabe expanded his kosher dining to New York City while working on projects there and in Chicago. Now, he will focus on the east coast and operate his new non-kosher Whittier steakhouse, The Nixon. The final dishes from Mexikosher will be served tonight at sundown, with a menu crafted for the Jewish holidays." - Farley Elliott
