"A 30-year-old Mid-City dive bar will shut down in April 2024 after its property at 910 N. Carrollton Avenue was sold to the owners of Blue Oak BBQ; the Tavern’s managing partner, Kathy Anderson, says she was led to believe she and her partner were buying the address but it was instead sold, and that the lease terms later offered would have increased base rent by 250% and forced them to pay insurance and property tax, prompting widespread discussion and hopes the bar might be able to relocate." - Clair Lorell
