"Whenever the heat drags temperatures into the 90s, I head to Koreatown for bowls of chewy, cold noodles. While many people come here for icy bowls of naengmyeon, I prefer the spicier jjolmyeon, with bouncy wheat noodles tossed in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce. The noodles come out slicked in a bright red sauce, topped with sliced cabbage, cucumber ribbons, and half a hard-boiled egg. I add an order of mandu, either steamed or fried, and do my best to forget the heat that waits right outside the air-conditioned walls of the restaurant." - Eater Staff
