"Up on the mezzanine, I experienced Swallow’s Nest as an Art Deco cocktail lounge serving beer and wines by the glass and bottle, with Houston-centric cocktails like the 713 G&T (a gin and tonic made with fresh lime juice and a jasmine green tea simple syrup) and the Azaela Trail (made with dry vermouth, Aperol, and Lillet Rose, named after the River Oaks springtime attraction). The upstairs space has wait staff, so I can place an order from one of the 10 food stalls and have it delivered directly to my table; the aptly named Swallow’s Nest gives diners a bird’s-eye view of the Finn Hall happenings below, making it a veritable people-watching party with both bar stools and plush table seating. Swallow’s Nest will be open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Alaena Hostetter
