"A new menu titled "Banned in DC" reimagines the story of a fictionalized Ruby Bridges: a 26-year-old Bridges goes down the Alice-in-Wonderland rabbit hole and traverses an apocalyptic D.C., with the menu guiding diners through the civil rights leader’s journey via pictures of miniature scenes set up by local artist Katie Miller, all made out of children’s toys. Inventive cocktails pair with every stage of the story and employ in-vogue mixology techniques like clarification and carbonation; examples include the 1962 (rum, berries and cream, ackee, toasted rice, and soursop) and the non-alcoholic Censor This! (lemon and tomato flavored)." - Tierney Plumb
