"At 3326 SE Belmont Street, I confirmed that Bar Loon — a new bar and restaurant from the Lightning Bar Collective — has had a liquor license approved and is projected to open the first week of June; Liam Duffy is a small-percentage owner but Ansel Vickery (known for running Bellwether Bar) will be behind the menu and drinks. No major construction is planned, only touch-ups, and the space will shift from a dark tavern to a brighter, wine-focused brasserie with dried flowers and bright light, highlighting tiny, snacky European-style food with vegan options as well as non-plant-based items (Vickery is excited to bring in a bistro burger: a thin patty on a brioche bun).
