"Remo Borracchini’s Bakery and Mediterranean Market, beloved by locals for nearly a century, announced it will not reopen after being closed all winter. The bakery is known for its meticulously decorated desserts, cakes, and other Mediterranean goods. It was a comfort food fixture and a Seattle staple, tracing its history back to the early 1920s. The founding family emigrated from Tuscany and started the bakery in the Beacon Hill and Rainier Valley neighborhood, eventually landing on Rainier Avenue South in 1939. The bakery was known for its special occasion cakes and had a wide influence in Seattle." - Gabe Guarente
