"A new dog and kid-friendly bar called Lazy Oaks Beer Garden recently debuted in Spring Branch. The new laid-back digs are located at 10158 Long Point Road and feature a fenced lawn and patio shaded by large oak trees, which inspired the bar’s name no doubt. The bar accommodates 90 people inside and another 50 on the patio, and drinkers will find plenty of TVs for game-watching, cornhole, and shuffleboard. Lazy Oaks features, not surprisingly, 15 different beers on tap, plus a full bar. As far as food is concerned, burgers, tacos, salads, and appetizers like chips & queso are on offer, which were created by Chef Grant Keaton, formerly of Benjy’s. Standout menu items include house-smoked wings flavored with buffalo, espresso barbecue, and Thai curry sauces. Another interesting sounding dish starts with house-smoked brisket that’s wrapped in bacon before being smothered in neufchatel cheese, jalapeños, and something called “bacon crack sauce.” The bar is from Emily and Chris McReavy, founders of Public House Heights on White Oak, which opened in 2012. “There are quite a few restaurants and bars in Spring Branch, but honestly, nothing at all like this,” Chris said in a statement. Lazy Oaks Beer Garden operates Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to midnight; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Kids are welcome until 9:00 p.m. daily, after which the bar becomes 21 and older." - Alaena Hostetter
