"Housed in a 5,100-square-foot space in the Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch center and replacing Westroot Tavern, Pacific Social officially opens today as an all-in-one experiential dining destination intended to be a vibrant social hub for the surrounding community. It features an arcade, a dog-friendly patio with games, and a sports-centric bar, and a brand-new chef team is serving a New American menu of classic comfort foods like chicken pot pie, fish and chips, and Southern-style grits with bacon and braised collard greens with shaved apple; shared plates include BO-beau’s famed Brussels sprouts alongside internationally inspired dishes and several vegetarian and vegan options. On the drinks side there’s an extensive wine list, 32 taps with rotating draft beers, and a cocktail program ranging from signatures and spritzes to frozen cocktails and mocktails — highlights include Frosé all day, the Japanese Smash made with Toki Japanese whiskey, and the Socialite with sparkling rosé, lemon, and seasonal berry liqueur. Open daily for lunch and dinner with brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (dishes range from a California "breakfast burrito" omelet with carne asada and French fries to vegetarian breakfast tacos with black beans, sweet potato, and oyster mushrooms), and a pie program offers six-inch dessert pies baked fresh on-site daily (serving one to two people) in flavors such as spiced apple, key lime, s'mores, and chocolate pecan dulce de leche available to eat in or grab-and-go." - Keri Bridgwater
