"Irish soda bread has finally gotten its due in Manhattan. The bakery is an evolution of a pop-up Mary O’Halloran started to support her family and save her Avenue A bar during the pandemic. The fanfare has only continued over at her storefront, featuring shelves of Irish groceries as well. A single scone is $6, while a boxed half-dozen sells for $30. These scones are delicious: moist, raisin-y, and slightly sweet, with a notable crunch. The scones come with Mary’s homemade blackberry jam and a quantity of full-cream Irish butter." - Emma Orlow
