"Chef duo Caleb Jang and Roren Choi return to a Mount Pleasant space on Saturday, May 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. with savory bites and sweet treats that fuse Korean American and Jewish American culinary traditions, teaming up with Korean-American Jewish storyteller Liz Kleinrock to make blended dishes like red bean rugelach ($4 each), soondubu (spicy tofu stew) shakshuka ($18), and marbled rye steamed buns filled with Korean-spiced pastrami and kimchi sauerkraut ($18 for two). The cooking partners told Eater the “Both/And” menu is a “celebration of identity, heritage, and the magic that happens when cultures collide and collaborate.” Preorders will be available for a few savory items plus pastry boxes ($11) with four rugelachs, two yuja lemon custard and poppy wild sesame hamantaschen, and two black sesame and vanilla-glazed black and white cookies; in-house–only desserts include a sufganiyot and hotteok crossover ($9) filled with manischevitz jam and tahini butter. Devoted followers can check the full menu and preorder on the venue’s site starting May 9; preorders must be submitted by Wednesday, May 14." - Emily Venezky
