"Tom’s Watch Bar in Chinatown, D.C., offers an immersive sports-watching experience with Old Bay shrimp, two-pound portions of wings, and icy drafts served in huge steins. The venue features three central oversized “stadium” screens surrounded by 120 high-definition screens for 360-degree viewing. The 6,500-square-foot venue is located at 781 Seventh Street NW, reactivating the former home of Circa. Menu highlights include spinach and artichoke dip, mac and cheese topped with butter-poached lobster and shrimp, Asian seared salmon salad, Angus beef cheeseburger on a brioche bun, and shaved prime rib dip with garlic fries or tots. A unique Old Bay shrimp basket is available. Wings can be upgraded to two-pound portions for $12 extra, and other options include a sushi-grade ahi tuna tower, tacos, and a “colossal” cheesecake. Dozens of taps pour a mix of domestic, Mexican-heavy imports, local, and seasonal beers in 40-ounce stein glasses. The popular “Party Starter” cocktail is a double dose of Tom’s ‘Rita with hibiscus and Red Bull. The D.C. edition caters to local teams such as the Capitals and Wizards, with TV time reserved for U.S. sports, UFC fights, and European soccer matches. An algorithm decides what to air, and a personalized app allows customers to hear play-by-play action. The bar collaborates with Topgolf, offering a swing suite simulator for virtual play. Tom’s Watch Bar also accommodates venue buyouts, private events, and alumni association watch parties." - Tierney Plumb
