New Cantonese Restaurant Eastern Dynasty Opens on Convoy | Eater San Diego

"I found Eastern Dynasty, which replaced Jin’s Pot in the Convoy Street plaza in Kearny Mesa, is serving a style of Cantonese cuisine similar to the long-running China Max. At least one member of its ownership previously worked at Noble Chef, a well-regarded spot known for standout roast duck and pork. With a display case of roast meats front and center, the restaurant offers an accomplished array of classic Cantonese barbecue — crispy-skinned roast duck, roast pork, char siu, and soy sauce chicken — available in combination plates of two to five items. Its extensive menu also features live seafood, including steamed whole fish and stir-fried lobster prepared in variations from ginger and scallion to pepper and garlic.
