The Automatic Will Open in the Former Victory Bar Space on SE Division | Eater Portland

"I'm reporting that a new cocktail bar, The Automatic, will open in late July in the SE Division space formerly home to Victory Bar. It comes from Andrew Finkelman, who after five years as bar manager at The Old Gold and a stint at Tough Luck decided to do his own thing; he's keeping the bones of Victory Bar while brightening the space with a fresh coat of paint and switching up the cocktail menu. Chef Micheal Kitchen (formerly of Jackknife) is designing a menu of “comfort pub food,” and Finkelman is working with Eem bartender Hannah Pareto on the cocktails; everything is preliminary, but they plan a balance of fun, playful drinks and classic cocktails like old fashioneds and Manhattans, with an unpretentious schtick and classic pub-food focus." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
