"The restaurateur behind Union Square Hospitality Group will open an all-day restaurant and bar named Cedric’s at the Shed, located within a nonprofit performing arts center adjacent to Hudson Yards on West 30th Street. It’ll be a 3,000-square-foot, 121-seat venue with an all-day menu running from morning to late evening. While there will be table service, Cedric’s will focus more on drinks than food, with no reservations accepted, a USHG spokesperson tells Eater. It opens April 5. Cocktails, craft beer, and wine will be on tap. As for food, shareable snacks, sandwiches, and salads will be available. The atmosphere will very much be in line with the center, called the Shed; it’ll operate similarly to his restaurants housed in the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. As such, Meyer’s catering company Union Square Events will also be the exclusive caterer for all of the Shed’s events, the spokesperson says. The Shed is located within the Bloomberg Building and was designed with a movable outer shell that can be used to create a 17,000-square-foot covered event space for big performances. Meyer’s catering company will also operate the two event spaces on the top floor of the building, dubbed the Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch Skylights, which overlook the Hudson River and city skyline. The space will host events centered on musical performances, painting, sculpture, film, theater, and dance. Cedric’s will be found on the ground floor of the center, and it’ll be open whether or not performances are going on." - Carla Vianna
