"I visited a Roman-style pizza and wine bar inside the original Eataly in Flatiron called Alla Pala, located in the market at 200 Fifth Ave. with a 23rd Street entrance. It sells airy, yeasty, rectangular 'al taglio' pies by the slice alongside Italian wines, offering nine pies daily that change from lunch to dinner and use produce pulled from the market; examples include a fiori di zucca topped with yellow and green summer squash, zucchini blossoms, cherry tomatoes, sea salt, and thyme, and a capricciosa with Rovagnati prosciutto cotto, mozzarella, tomato, mushrooms, artichokes, olives, and basil.
