"I watched European-style cafe culture arrive in Pico-Robertson with the opening of a new cafe and wine bar: the wine bar debuted Saturday, January 27 and is currently open Wednesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with daytime cafe hours forthcoming. Co-owners Jackie Liu and Justin Ngamthonglor, who signed a lease in August 2022 after the closure of their favorite Palm Springs spot, envisioned a day-to-night concept pairing Tectonic coffee (they’ll brew beans from Tectonic) with a wine program and food from chef Royce Burke (formerly of Yarrow). The current menu features oysters, crudo, and sandwiches, with plans to expand breakfast pastries and add lunch and dinner items such as an egg salad sandwich and skirt steak. Wines—mostly selected by the owners and described as "punching above their weight"—start at $12 a glass alongside higher-end options.
