"Inside Vinal General Store in Somerville’s Union Square, general manager Chloe Nolan treats hots as her favorite condiment and uses it mixed with mayo as the marquee “hots mayo” on the Vinal Spuckie, a hyperlocal Italian sub. She cherishes hots’s particular “zip and zing” more than its heat, stresses that “the seeds are important,” and purposely blends it into mayo so it won’t be optional on sandwiches.
