"Upper Haight’s Club Deluxe, a 33-year-old destination for live music and cheap drinks, announced it would shut down but later a deal was brokered to keep it open. District 5 Supervisor Dean Preston helped guide a six-hour mediation at City Hall to reach this agreement. The mediation was based on an ordinance passed in 2021 that provides financial protection to small businesses from debts during the pandemic.
