"After closing its 1516 Harper Court spot on Saturday, owner Jovanis Bourgoub plans to reopen Pork Chop a block away at 5121 S. Harper Avenue, moving from a 2,000-square-foot Hyde Park space into a much larger 5,000-square-foot room that it will share with Bourgoub’s seafood restaurant. The shared dining room has been split with different decors to make room for both concepts, there are two signs outside but a single entrance, and Bourgoub will offer both menus with customers able to order from either regardless of where they’re seated. Pork Chop is an established brand that debuted on Randolph Street in the West Loop and has multiple locations around the city (including Midway Airport and South Loop); the Hyde Park location opened five years ago. Bourgoub said he struggled to find reliable workers for Pork Chop, and hopes the move will introduce barbecue fans to his seafood restaurant and grow his customer base." - Ashok Selvam
