"I worked an evening service at Sad Valley on Monday and the heater broke right at 5 p.m. so you could see your breath in the bar; it was busy at first because people had the day off, but as patrons started getting cold it was dead by 8 p.m. and we decided to shut down early at 10:30 p.m. I haven’t worked since and I’m worried about rent—there needs to be more understanding and a better system to support people through events like this." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
