Dallas Mutual Aid Groups Are Struggling to Distribute Funds Fast Enough Following Winter Storms | Eater Dallas

"After celebrity shoutouts that helped raise roughly $200,000 via Venmo and CashApp in a week, the organization has been unable to immediately fulfill more than 500 aid requests because mobile-payment platform limits and account holds are preventing large person-to-person disbursements (Venmo’s TOS caps verified users at $4,999.99/week and Cash App reportedly limits verified senders to $7,500/week).
