"At a newly unveiled lobby bar in Manhattan, the director of bars introduced a tribute version of that fabled martini as the lead item on a “Tributes” menu. Prepared tableside and priced at $26, the New York rendition uses a single Tanqueray No. Ten gin and Ketel One vodka—each encased in a block of solid ice nicknamed “the koozie” due to limited freezer space—and a teaspoon of Maldon salt solution is added to each bottle to make the flavors pop. Presented essentially as a glass of frozen liquor, the cocktail quickly resonated with guests (even prompting full-table rounds), so the bar limits patrons to two per evening for safety." - Robert Simonson
