"The peak of Des Croissant Paris’ signature pastry looks like the ridge of Mount Baldy, with rounded off ends and a pale blonde color that might make you think it could have used another minute in the oven. But while the butter croissant at this minimalist Culver City cafe isn’t the most to look at, its soft, crackly layers are a delight to tear apart, and even more delightful to eat. We love its malty sweetness, nice chew, and the fact that it sheds off just enough flakes to let someone know you recently ate a croissant. Afterward, expect your lips to glisten like you just applied a coat of lip gloss." - sylvio martins, garrett snyder, brant cox
