"The counter at Le Bûcheron is perhaps the only place in central Paris where you can still sip a 1€ espresso or a 2€ baby pour of wine at the bar. And that’s not the only way this spot is bringing old-school café codes back to life. The menu is dotted with the meal-sized chèvre chaud salads and hearty croques that were once a trademark of such spots. Expect slightly self-aggrandizing sourcing callouts on the menu, not that we’re complaining if it means you can pair an organic omelette with biodynamic Bordeaux. The old-school café vibes may be more impressive than the dishes themselves, so err on the side of simplicity, and remember that anything tastes better when you’re people-watching from one of the most sun-soaked sidewalk terraces in the Marais." - Emily Monaco
