"Toast Noir Cafe in Buckhead is swankier than most coffee shops in the city, with gold accents and pretty drinks that steal the attention away from the cafe food, which ranges from really good to totally fine. It’s just a couple of doors down from the always-busy brunch spot run by the same team, Toast On Lennox, and works well for a laptop marathon or a light lunch with friends. Go for the $15 turkey club with turkey bacon on a soft hero roll, and splurge on a drink even if that’s not usually your style. We especially like the mint green and purple matcha with lavender (it's sweet and smooth) or the rich mocha latte with an ice bear that's so cute you’ll hate to see it melt. Food Rundown Seafood Gumbo - Toast Noir Cafe This gumbo is excellent. It has a perfectly darkened rue, and it’s spicier than average but that balances well with a slight up-kick in salt, which comes off as more savory than overbearing. It has large pieces of shrimp so it doesn’t take a lot to get one in a bite, and there are also large chunks of chicken breast, sausage, and shell-on crab. Turkey Club - Toast Noir Cafe Simple and solid. Served on soft hoagie bread that soaks up whatever caffeine you just downed—it’s not trying too hard, and that’s the point. photo credit: Sarah Newman Honey Butter Biscuit A great biscuit, roughly the size of a teacup saucer. It’s soft, flaky, buttery, and absolutely worth grabbing. Mocha Bear Latte - Toast Noir Cafe Easily the cutest thing on the menu: an iced teddy bear floating in a smooth mocha drink. It’s not just for looks—it actually tastes great. photo credit: Sarah Newman Lavender Silk Matcha This matcha is delicious, silky, and sweet—with a lavender blossom on top that makes it almost too pretty to drink (almost).
