"Consider this busy taco spot a team building exercise for couples. Do you both pass time chatting in El Tesoro’s long line, which will snake around the corner? Maybe one person holds the line as the other orders drinks from the bar then claims a table in this Edgewood courtyard, which is really an obstacle course of mismatched patio furniture. The easy-going backyard aesthetic means both strategies are right. That's because it's the kind of place you’d want to hang out all day, tasting all nine margarita flavors and sharing chips and dips. And if you're here before 2pm on weekends, their breakfast tacos steal the show." - juli horsford, jacinta howard
"When you want tacos and craft beer at noon (it’s 5 o’clock somewhere), make your move to El Tesoro at Lee + White, located inside Wild Heaven. It’s the perfect spot to chit-chat if you've been silently typing away at your desk all morning—whether it’s with your fellow patrons in the fast-moving line or a conversation at the communal metal table. Order the flavorful tinga de pollo with juicy braised chicken and chipotle salsa, grab a lager, and hang out on the couch in the back of the space with your beer and taco in hand. The whole experience is very heavy on the "break" part of lunch break." - jacinta howard
"Whenever you’re feeling most alone, a walk on the Beltline will guarantee some type of human interaction, even if it’s a rogue teen nearly running you over with a scooter. When you tire of the pavement, head to El Tesoro’s outpost on the West End trail inside of Wild Heaven. The cavernous seating area in the brewery is usually full of beer lovers and the taco-obsessed (two of our favorite kinds of people). But the best companions here are the delicious barbacoa taco and a draft brew. Plop yourself down on a communal table, and even if you don’t talk to anyone, the hustle and bustle of the massive space feels like you’re part of the action." - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder
"There’s usually a line snaking around the corner of this Edgewood neighborhood taqueria. Plan for a 30-minute wait to avoid hangry frustration, but also know that you can grab a margarita or Bloody Mary at the bar to keep you company in line. El Tesoro only has outdoor seating, so it’s best to swing by when the weather isn’t giving us a reason to use the banned term "Hotlanta." But on balmy days, there’s nothing better than lying back in a colorful patio chair with a juicy barbacoa de res taco and enjoying the laid back vibes." - nina reeder, juli horsford, jacinta howard
"El Tesoro’s Edgewood location gets quite busy, but if that doesn’t faze your pup, go ahead and bring them to this al fresco taco spot. Plenty of shaded spaces on gravel and grass allow them to chill while locally-made Big Daddy Biscuit treats for sale (the same ones dog-friendly Clermont Hotel offers at check-in) are a great reward for these pups that can keep their cool in a crowd." - Su-Jit Lin
