"The nightly line in front of Sarkis is a testament to its status as a Palermo/Villa Crespo Institution. Open since 1982, this Armenian restaurant has weathered hyperinflation, economic crises, and the pandemic—and still manages to pull off one of the best price-to-quality ratio spots in the city. Go with a big group so you can order like you mean it: stuffed grape leaves, Persian rice, hummus, smoky babaganoush, and enough grilled lamb, beef, and veggie kebabs to go around—all doused with a yogurt sauce so good it deserves its own paragraph. Finish with a baklava or tiramisu to close out a perfect meal. They open at 7pm sharp and don’t take reservations, so get there on time to avoid a wait, or hang out on the sidewalk for a bit (don’t worry, the line moves fast). After dinner, walk a few blocks to Vico wine bar, or one of the many nearby spots for a drink." - Annie Bacher
