R Slice Review - Bushwick - New York - The Infatuation

"Roberta’s has been Bushwick’s best pizza party since 2008, and they’ve finally filled the area’s glaring slice-shop hole with a quality option. Walk up the same block, past the gorilla mural, and into the bakery with a “to-go” sign outside. Unlike the Neapolitan pies at the original, R.Slice does a thin, chewy sourdough crust that folds without getting floppy—making it a lot easier to eat while standing at their one high-top table, or while walking back to a bar. (There are also a couple of cafe tables inside.) They currently have only three types of pizza, and a sandwich—but all of them are great, and we’ll keep coming back between bar-hopping in the neighborhood. It’s the pizza version of the Fire & Ice dish at Roberta’s wine bar offshoot, Foul Witch—a genius combo of sweet-ish, stretchy stracciatella cheese, and fiery pockets of grease from the ‘nduja, which basically turns into a chili oil as it melts.
