Handam BBQ - Review - Chinatown - Houston - The Infatuation

"Handam BBQ is our favorite place to go when we want to speed-run a KBBQ dinner. Service is lightning fast but still attentive—servers will begin cooking your meat for you if your grilling isn’t efficient enough. Handam only takes reservations for parties of six or more, so either put yourself on the waitlist before the drive there, or corral a group of friends ahead of time to help you divide and conquer the corn cheese and combination platters. And if your stomach is feeling particularly bottomless, Handam offers an all-you-can-eat option (but there’s a $20 fee if you don’t clean your plate). Food Rundown photo credit: Richard Casteel C3 Handam Combo The C3 combo packs in prime rib, two types of short rib, beef belly, and savory pork bulgogi into one combo. Bring a crew to help you clear the table and expect to be strategically placing side dish plates around the grill until you do. photo credit: Richard Casteel Kimchi Stew There are two types of stew options that come with any combination plate at Handam. Get the kimchi stew and take as many ladles of the spicy broth as you can handle (and make sure a piece of tofu finds its way to your bowl, too). photo credit: Richard Casteel Cheesy Corn If it weren’t for a few pieces of yellow corn on the edge of this dish, we’d fully believe that we were served a plate of melted cheese. But the sweet golden corn balances the slightly-salted cheese so well, we have no choice but to trust in the power of this combination." - Gianni Greene
