Dirty Pierre's Review - Forest Hills - New York - The Infatuation

"Is Dirty Pierre’s the best bar ever? Tall claim, but where else can you get a gigantic bowl of freshly steamed mussels, or an equally giant burger on a toasted English muffin before seeing a concert at Forest Hills Stadium? With concert posters from Forest Hills shows past, and cheap beer both on tap and in bottles, this place is designed to be a haven for hungry souls on their way to transformative musical experience. And, if you come early enough to get one of their seven tables, you can eat some pretty solid bar food before heading into the former tennis arena. The split-level bar is small, and the tables are cramped, but the pre-concert energy here is electric, no doubt aided by the memorabilia on the walls. Food Rundown photo credit: David A. Lee Mussels Unless you really, really like mussels, you should split these. There are no fewer than 45 mollusks per order, and they’re steamed to perfection in a salty, garlicky, slightly spicy broth. Served with warm bread, these are a great pack of protein to keep you going in the pit. photo credit: David A. Lee Burger Big. Messy. Served on an English muffin. This isn’t going to blow you away, but it’s a solid pub-style burger that’s worth ordering if you’re in the mood, especially for the big mess of fries it’s served with." - Will Hartman
