"If you were planning to come to Raleigh just for BBQ, you definitely should hit up Clyde Cooper’s first. When you want Carolina-style, vinegar-based pork barbecue, this downtown spot is where you should get it. It’s one of the oldest BBQ spots in the state (it opened in 1938) and both the slow-roasted pork shoulder and baby-back ribs can rival any other barbecue in the Triangle. They also make fried chicken and brisket, along with all the usual sides." - Christine Byrne
