On the Grid : Travers Park

"In a neighborhood with limited green space and an abundant population of kids, Travers Park is a cherished and well-used resource. The park is equipped with a tot lot, a big kid playground, sprinklers in the hot months, 2 handball courts, a basketball court and a large open space that is used for everything from tennis and volleyball matches to tai chi and yoga classes. In recent years the area surrounding the park has expanded to include a weekend farmer’s market and the 78th Street Play Street that is also host to outdoor performances. Continued renovations and expansions are in the works to provide the growing community a top notch outdoor space." - Diane Shaw
