"I found that Okamoto Studio, a New York–based ice carving collective run by Takeo and Shintaro Okamoto, now offers hand-carved ice sculptures for private events; they've become known for larger ice pieces at cocktail bars, bar mitzvahs, weddings, and fashion events, and are selling a 30-pound, LED-illuminated “Fun Luge” for $220 in more than 50 designs (from a Halloween pumpkin to the over-the-top “Dude Torso”) that serve as centerpieces and last about four to six hours before melting." - Diana Hubbell
Watch: How Ice Sculptors Carve Art From Frozen Chunks | Eater
"An established ice-sculpting studio in Queens, NY, operating since 2003 and known for creating custom sculptures for cocktail bars, bar mitzvahs, and high-profile events like New York Fashion Week. Co-owner Shint Aro Okamoto emphasizes that ice carving is akin to carving wood or stone, requiring years of practice, a close relationship with tools, and a steep learning curve. In the show's premiere, host Katie Pickens learns to carve an ice bowl using chainsaws, vee chisels, and hand saws, showcasing the technical skill and hands-on craftsmanship behind commissioned ice work." - Eater Video
"An operation in Queens credited with pioneering Japanese-style 'crystal clear' ice production locally beginning in 2003, helping to introduce the prized aesthetic and functional clarity of Ginza ice to New York bars." - Mary Jane Weedman, Bobby Doherty
Okamoto is such a professional company to work with. They offered a beautiful custom product at incredibly short notice. Myself and my client were very impressed with the clarity and artistic nature of the ice sculpture. We are so grateful for their hard work. - Joanna Mancuso Zimbaro planner for 12/31/21 wedding

Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews. They claim they are "reputable" and "known by everyone around the city" but that doesn't prevent them from running over the little guy (on my wedding day none the less). They did not deliver the product they promised because it was missing the LED lights (even though the initial proposal said all their sculptures come with LED lights). The employee then denied that they were supposed deliver them and that the invoice didn't say the LED lights were there (again, even though in email correspondence we clearly stated that they wanted them). Beware and be careful if you decide on using them, make sure everything is explicit.

One of my father in laws requests for the wedding was to continue the tradition of ice sculptures. I didn’t know where to turn by Okamoto was there and surpassed every expectation. We wanted something mongrammed and functional and they created the perfect ice luge in the shape of a martini for the martini bar. It was stunning, functional and a centerpiece of the evening. Everyone loved it!

Had an ice sculpture installed for my company party a couple weeks ago. Had the pleasure of having a worker named Tristan be part and heading the install. Very professional and diligent worker. Will definitely be using this company again based of their work ethic.

I have used this vendor several times for cocktail ice and ice sculptures. Everything from the creative process, purchasing, pricing, and delivery team is excellent! I would not only highly recommend, but would continue shopping with this business. My only critique is I wish they had more options for smaller cocktail ice options but their products are great as is.
