On the Grid : Piers Park

"If you've seen a movie of Boston in the past ten years, most likely, you've seen this park. Built as an environmental offset of Logan Airport for neighborhood residents, Piers Park offers views of downtown Boston and the harbor, playgrounds for children, table and picnic areas, an outdoor fitness area and concert pit. During the summer, it hosts free concerts provided by groups such as Zumix, Boston’s Landmarks Orchestra, and others. The park also houses the Piers Park Sailing Center, which offers sailing lessons, rentals, and memberships, along with their adaptive sailing programming aimed at persons with physical and cognitive disabilities.
