"Set along the forested foothills of Banteay Srei’s Kulen Mountains, this ancient sacred site—also called the River of a Thousand Lingas—rewards a cool-weather hike with riverbed carvings depicting Hindu deities and phallic symbols of fertility. The 1.5km uphill trail takes about 40 minutes at a moderate pace or up to an hour and a half if you’re taking it easy, narrowing and widening over occasional wooden stairs, muscular tree roots and boulders that keep things interesting while the weather keeps it pleasant." - Tara Sering
