A good 1-3 hour hike, depending on the loop. Go early before it gets too hot or too crowded. Relatively easy, solid return in terms of scenery vs effort.

Exactly where you want to eat in a town like Borrego Springs. You're going to stick out like a sore thumb amongst the locals, but that's okay. Great vibes, live music, good food. Order a prime rib platter.

New-American and probably the most "modern" spot in town. Worth a meal out.

A little pricy but to be expected because options are limited. Has everything you could possibly need for a weekend stay, maybe more. And don't sleep on the sandwiches.

Great post-tennis burritos.

Older hotel with a great pool and an extremely central location.

Not a ton of hotel options in Borrego Springs but this one is solid. Nice rooms, outdoor tubs, fireplaces, etc. (Bonus, depending: adults only.)

120+ sculptures inspired by prehistoric creatures spread out over several acres of canyon land.

Extremely photogenic tennis courts in the middle of a dusty desert town—and maybe the reason you're going to Borrego Springs in the first place? Kitted out airstreams are available for overnight stays, but I recommend staying elsewhere and getting day passes, which give you access to the full facilities, including tub and pool—or even better: booking a lesson or two with Coach Jaroslav.
