Farm-to-table Southern California cuisine with organic garden ingredients

"Simple, American comfort foods. The vibe is relaxed, the patio is comfortable, and the food is well priced and consistent. A great spot to bring out of towners to on day one as an intro to the LA food scene in the area, or for hungover brunches when you don't feel like making a lot of decisions." - Cris Cimatu

"Starting this month, 1 Kitchen will randomly cover the bills of selected guests and ask them to pay it forward by performing acts of kindness; the restaurant encourages participants to share their good deeds on Instagram with the hashtag #platformforchange, and at year’s end one person will be selected to win a complimentary one-night stay at 1 Hotel Nashville — suggested charitable actions include donating used guitar strings to Strings for Hope, volunteering at Urban Green Lab, or dedicating a tree through the Tennessee Environmental Council." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
"West Hollywood’s rather gorgeous 1 Hotel restaurant, 1 Kitchen, has a nicely-priced Thanksgiving lunch plate for $29 that comes with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, brussels sprouts, and cranberry for pickup or dine-in at 1 Kitchen, Juniper Lounge or in-room (if you happen to be staying at the hotel on turkey day). Only available from noon to 10 p.m." - Matthew Kang

"Head to West Hollywood for a taste of Top Chef alum Chris Crary’s latest cooking. The newly opened spot is offering a simple two-course menu for $20 with toast and salads to start, and a burger and fried chicken sandwich to finish." - Cathy Chaplin
"Inside at Crary’s 1 Kitchen restaurant (the name could’ve used a tad more imagination...and searchability), the menu takes on a familiar Cali-Italian vibe with pastas, salads, and hearty mains that should appeal to a wide swath of diners. The garden salad literally comes from the hotel’s 2,000 square foot garden at the foot of the building, which is a nice touch. Depending on the season, find tomatoes, a mixture of greens, goat feta, and honey lemon vinaigrette binding it together (there are literally eight salads on this menu because, WeHo). A heady truffle risotto comes with buttery-thin vegetables while a hunk of lamb shank comes above farro and stone fruit. Everything is easy, breezy, and reasonably priced and tailor made for the neighborhood mix of tourists, recent transplants, and longtime locals." - Matthew Kang
