NYC New Restaurant Openings, September 2025 | Eater NY

"Brooklyn’s newest sandwich shop leans on Royal Crown Bakery bread for builds like the No Sleep Til Gravesend roast beef with griddled onions and provolone, a chicken Caesar, and a white cheddar–topped full-sour pickles number." - Nadia Chaudhury

1 of 1 Sandwich - Review - Park Slope - New York - The Infatuation

"1of1 Sandwich in Park Slope takes its cues from South Brooklyn’s old-schoolItalian sandwich shops. The bread comes from Royal Crown Bakery in Bay Ridge (andStaten Island), and the meats are all roasted in-house. We've got our eyes on the No Sleep Till Gravesend (hot roast beef with caramelized onions, provolone, and homemade gravy), but the Bocadillo with ham, manchego, romesco aioli, and guindilla peppers also sounds promising." - Willa Moore

The food speaks for itself: stellar! This is the kind of spot that will soon have folks queuing up, I have no doubt. We got the Ashley’s 1 of 1 and the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The bread is super fresh and for me that’s a great start, you’d be surprised how places punk out on the bread. Next the flavors, for me the Gravesend tastes like a French dip with the au jus already in the sandwich- the roast beef is so flavorful! The Ashley is the perfect Italian sandwich if you love chicken but don’t really love cold cuts, and the dressing they use is the cherry on top! Try it before they get super famous and you have to stand on line to get one!!!

Wow this Gravesend sandwich rocked. Definitely reminded me of a few of the roast beef spots in south Brooklyn, sort of like the Johnny roast beef sandwich but done a bit more gourmet style, and without being a clone of any one specifically. Can’t wait to try other ones.

Place was delish and very quick. Kitchen Confidential & a Dr Brown’s Cream Soda + tax&tip came out around $25 and was a ton of food. Will be a regular!

The hot roast beef sandwich was off the hook, one of the best I’ve ever eaten. However long wait, limited seating area, I recommend taking out.

Absolutely delicious Chicken Caesar sandwich! This sandwich was perfection from first bite to last. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The Caesar dressing added just the right tang, blending beautifully with the Romaine lettuce. The parmsan frico gave it that irresistible salty flavor that tied everything together. And the butter toasted Brick oven was a perfect complement to all the ingredients, held everything perfectly together without getting soggy. Every ingredient tasted fresh and balanced. Coming back to try out one of the other sandwiches on the menu.

Had the roast beef sandwich and it is one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in the neighborhood in the nearly 10 years living here. They tout in the quality of their ingredients and they definitely back it up. Staff was really friendly but it took 15 min to get my sandwich and I was later in the day so hopefully they work that out so it’s not too crazy during the main lunch rush. Excited to try more on the menu - will definitely be back.

Lovely people, good quality food (City Subs used Boarshead, 1of1 uses better ingredients...I think). However not willing to do ingredient substitutions (e.g. I can't eat cheese, and wanted to switch for protein). Owner kinda waived me off -- build your own would have meant a $15 sandwhich becomes $21 -- when the protein I wanted is cheaper than the mozzerella I wanted to switch out. Anyhoo, maybe we have been spoilt by the "build a bear" approach of NY Deli culture. I wish them the lines out the door that City subs had and will do my best to support this local business.

I was Excited a sandwich shop opened in the old city subs spot. Always looking for a great sandwich. The person at the counter was not even present when taking my order. He was distracted by every other thing going on around him. I was not hopeful that he was listening to me never mind the fact that he actually didn’t look at me. He was distracted by what seemed like nothing going on behind him. I was confused from the start. My husband ordered No Sleep til Gravesend, meat was exceptional & lucking I requested The gravy on the side. It was a gelatinous Demi glaze of salt. I ordered a create your own sandwich. Chicken mozzarella arugula roasted peppers. My order was wrong. I received their sun dried peppers that have the seeds & are so sweet that they over Power anything else. Instead of arugula I got brown romaine. The chicken had no flavor and was Very dry. As mentioned the romaine was brown & tasted foul. I also Ordered a side Cesar salad. The dressing is divine!! Loved the depth of flavor. HOWEVER, again the romaine lettuce was rancid!!!! I paid $14 for a salad we were not able to eat. The lettuce was literally brown wilted & we were afraid to eat it. In conclusion, service 2.5 stars to be generous. Food quality 3, want to be fair to the bread maker & the quality of beef on my husbands sandwich & the mozzarella on mine. Cesar dressing is yummy. Expensive for Sammy’s that are at best a 2.5.

Yelp
In New York City, the sandwich market is very competitive. I was delighted to discover that 1 of 1 Sandwich has made a strong entry. The store itself is nothing special. There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Overall, 1 of 1 has great (and mostly house made) ingredients and great execution. There's a level of creativity on the menu that you rarely see elsewhere in the city. 1 of 1 is among the best sandwich shops in the city, and a very welcome addition to the area.

Yelp
Tried 1/1 over the weekend. Very clean, welcoming staff. Great menu for make your own sandwich and some very crafty recommended or seasonal sandwiches. Absolute coming back. I've had a lot of sandwiches - but this really is one of the best I've had in a long time. The house fresh cut meats, produce, aioli and sauces, the BREAD was day of incredible. Great combos they recommend as well, flavor pairings I haven't come across yet such as chorizo, ham, manchego, pepper aioli, it was like a heavenly Spanish charcuterie board on a sandwich. Chef kiss. If they advertise using Dukes mayo - you know they know what they're doing. Would absolutely go back again and plan on it. My wife and I split one and that was perfect for both of us for lunch on the go. Two people could very easily have their own of course. Very friendly staff, can eat in or to go both seem great. Definitely recommend giving them a shot!

Yelp
Great ingredients, great service, and a great sandwich! Will be coming back to try more. I had their italian sandwich on a seeded hero, and 5 hours later, the oil and vinegar hadn't soaked through the sandwich. veggies were still great and flavor was incredible.

Yelp
Finally, a good sandwich spot in the area! I hadn't heard of 1 of 1 until I was walking in the neighborhood and noticed the storefront. It's small and unassuming, but walking inside I noticed it was busy. Always a good sign. The staff was very welcoming and helped me build my own sandwich. They don't seem to have an online menu but you can order delivery on Toast which is linked on their Instagram. Highly recommend if you're craving a sub with fresh /non-stale bread and good quality deli meats.
