Cool looking bar! I love the windows that overlook into the street. The front door staff was super kind and professional. They day we visited they only played latin music but would've been nice to hear a mix otherwise the DJ was great. Great location if you are looking to bar hop and they have many events going on throughout the week. Only con is the bartenders were rude to myself and other patrons.

A super fun spot to celebrate St. Patrick's Day shenanigans -- I can only speak to the experience for this specific event, and it's centrally located if you're looking to go bar hopping. We paid for a table in advance and could pick up wristbands earlier in the week, for an 8AM to noon reservation that came with drinks included. They were packed all day on Saturday, but never to the point where people were tripping over each other since it was a spacious bar. The manager, servers, bussers and bottle service girls were so sweet and helpful -- they really helped make the entire experience so fun (complete with a bubble machine) and let us bring in a small cake for a birthday (would call in advance to check if you can do the same). They have two levels, each with slightly different kinds of music. I really enjoyed our time here, would recommend reserving a table in advance if they're offering next year!

I recently attended a Desi Darty event at Hubbard Inn and it was a blast! Hubbard inn has 3 levels, and each level has some fun events going on almost every time. The check-in process was smooth for our level, however I did notice that there was a huge queue for the event taking place on second level but everything was very easy and quick! There's a lot of space to accommodate huge crowds. They have a water jar right next to the bar along with cups which I felt was nice to avoid standing in long queues to just get a cup of water at times. Drinks, slightly on the expensive side and a bit watered down. Overall, good place and I'll visit again if there are good events hosted here!

Went to the location for the Espresso Martini tasting. The card and event stated 15 samples with the door opening at 5pm end time 8pm. There was a line wrapped around the corner to get in, but the line went fast. They had 2 floors for the tasting, but only had 12 samples, a little disappointing to not have all 15. It was pretty packed in both rooms, but they made best with the space (it was a sold-out event). Music was playing and everyone seemed in good spirits.

The staff was super nice and people seemed to enjoy the drinks. The food was just meh. Most concerning to me was their cleanliness or lack thereof. See photos. Not sure what that is on one of the swinging seats upstairs but it looks like old dried vomit that has been there for a while which causes me to question how well (or often) the place is cleaned. It was gross and I was genuinely reluctant to eat because of it. Made me wonder if this is what the dining and bar area looks like...what's happening in the kitchen?

Stopped by Hubbard Inn for a pre-dinner cocktail! We sat at the first floor bar and thought the interior was what we could describe as mid-century modern meets eclectic humor. The interior was a mix of black and white finishes, fun pops of color on lounge furniture, humorous artwork, and plants throughout. Our bartender was nice and turned our drinks around very quickly. Its always fun to sit at a bar for the show of seeing a craft cocktail be made from scratch. Our only drawbacks were that the menu did not offer any prices up front and the bill already included a 20% gratuity which was not communicated to us. My husband and I pride ourselves on being good tippers as is but transparency to customers on both aspects would have been appreciated.

Our girls holiday weekend in Chicago was made complete by our experience here. Every girl in our group reported this was their favorite place we came. The food was great, the drinks were flowing, we had an awesome server, and we had a lot of fun! The place was decorated exceptionally well and the DJ freaking rocked. We loved the vibe of having a nice dinner while also shaking our thangs in our both to the club tunes. This place is awesome and I can't wait to come back when we do our trip next year!

We were in Chicago for my friends bday and looking for a happy hour. We stumbled into Hubbard Inn where we had strong drinks and delicious oysters. The decor was sooo cute, felt like a garden. The vibe/ambiance is very chic. The service was great! We even got to chat with the manager Adam that give us all the nightlife insights to downtown Chicago. We will be back! And hopefully for brunch!

Stopped by here for a night out with friends. When walking in, the place is chill and scenic. There's a club upstairs thats more lively. Kudos to security for the line to get upstairs because he made sure that no one skipped in front of us. The line was due to capacity limits so be mindful that if you come downstairs, you may still have to wait to get back up. The drinks are a bit pricey but I didn't mind because this spot is clearly more upscale than some others. The music is a mix and its free to get in so I'd definitely come back.

I had dinner here TWICE on previous trips to Chicago. The food was amazing (5 Star) in a traditional warm environment. In my return tonight, I can't believe this is the same place! Unrecognizable hipster environment. Food was good but I won't be back.

The Hubbard Inn is an elder statesman in the food bar space. Was there recently before it got busy and service was great & food was good. Still a cool vibe and a good spot for a meeting & cocktails.

Went last Saturday for a private birthday day party in an upper room. Super cool place! There were places to lounge, dance, eat, plus a long bar for drinking and talking. I was impressed with the small bites they provided, namely the Mac n cheese. My friend chose a great place to have her party. I was very impressed with the size of the space and that she was able to bring her own dj who was amazing.

I just had brunch here and let me tell you that I absolutely loved it!! Fantastic food, fabulous atmosphere and great service!! We had the wonderful Haley take care of us and enjoyed great tunes, great drinks and food to die for!!! Heck yes I'll be back!!

This location is simply amazing, and the staffers here were all just awesome. We had reservations for the celebration we were having, anniversary dinner. We got there much earlier than we thought, so went inside and they took care of us without any troubles. The staffer that took our reservation, came over to our table as she had some specials for our anniversary celebration, what a special evening, even the general manager came by with a drink for each of us. The cake they gave us had fireworks on top for everyone to know about our special dinner.

I am a blogger from Houston, Tx and I came for their Sunday Brunch on 4/14 as it was recommended by a local friend. This place was by far the worst customer service experienced here in Chicago. I came in at 1pm and requested a table for 2. She asked if I had reservations. After I said I didn't she indicated she didn't have any tables other than the bar or lounge sitting. However, there were 10 UNOCCUPIED high tops I was looking at in front of me. I asked her about the high tops and she said no those are actually reserved. I felt she wanted to give us any excuse possible to turn us away. Especially since she didn't even give us an option to wait for a table. I excused myself for a minute and I made a reservation on Open Table for 1:15pm. I came back up to her and told her I have reservations. What do you know she sat us down. The "reserved" high tops she mentioned previously remained unoccupied for the entire time we ate. I observed this hostess and she stood at the front with such a RBF like she just hates people. At any restaurant, your hostess is the first person your patrons interact with. She does not belong in this position. I hope you know she is deterring customers. The service wasn't much better from there, as it took 20mins for a waitress to come greet us. I wouldn't consider it particularly busy either. This restaurant has so much potential considering the art decor, food was great, and aesthetic. I really hope management focuses on the service aspect.

The service was great and the food was tasty! I recommend Hubbard Inn, definitely. We came here for our anniversary and this restaurant/bar/club vibes did not disappoint. I would definitely come back and bring people as well. Also, you could never go wrong with a decent mimosa special plus some good food is a win-win. They had a manager walking around greeting people and everyone felt very welcoming, so that was another added nice touch. We ubered here, so didn't have to worry about parking and we were in River North, so nice area to do other things as well. This is a good place for 2 people or many people in a group. I ordered biscuits & gravy with a side of tater tot fries looking thing (and I go back to order the exact same thing haha). Filly and perfect for day drinking. Also also, need to acknowledge the DJ/his music choice was fire . Personal Review: 8.5/10

We went for the Christmas pop up and I have been here now two years in a row for this. It's fun! We had a reservation and had to wait another 45 minutes, but what can you do Overpriced bar food, but at least some of it is as decent and the drinks are strong so it's worth it BUT the upper level is always closed for a private party so be warned. Anyway it's festive, but I won't go here any other time of year lol

Terrible experience all around. My friend group and I bought tickets via Eventbrite to the "Shamrock Soirée With Hubbard Inn" event that took place on March 16th from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Each ticket was 20$, about $25 with taxes and fees. We bought the tickets months ago and were looking forward to spending the afternoon at this establishment. We tried showing the bouncers our PRE PURCHASED tickets and when he finally took the time to address us, he held my phone in front of his face and said audibly, "Fuck". It was apparent that he and the other bouncers were not told that Hubbard Inn was offering admission to their "party" via Eventbrite and it was clear that he and the other staff were unprepared for the influx of attendees for the 3 pm start. What is the point in selling tickets to an event if you're not allowing people with tickets in? He showed my phone to the other bouncers and seemingly made the decision to let us through. AFTER, however, yelling in our faces to "get inside now" and pushing one of our husbands off the curb and into the street (insane). This was our first stop of the day and we were calm and trying to explain our situation to the crew working the door. No one in my party at any time raised their voice, tried to shove their way in, or demonstrated any type of aggressive or violent behavior towards anyone. At this point, everyone was tense and exhausted from this awful experience. We then tried to go upstairs to meet our friends who had arrived earlier, were denied meeting the rest of our group upstairs and then a barback working inside the venue shoved my female friend to the ground (to the point where staff intervened and offered her a free bottle the next time she comes in) and we knew that our time at Hubbard Inn was up and we had to leave. Needless to say, this entire experience was disappointing. We paid to get into the venue and have a nice time and were treated so poorly by the staff that we felt safer leaving. I am typically a huge fan of the Hubbard Inn and have attended many events in years past and have never been treated in this manor. Unfortunately I will never return after this experience and would not recommend it to anyone I know.

Food was delicious. Service sucked and 20% gratuity was required. Waitress told us all drinks on the happy hour menu were $12 then charged us more. Steak frites was served bloody and rare despite asking for otherwise. Very cute Christmas decor but wouldn't go back due to service.

I had a dreadful experience at Hubbard Inn. The service was abysmal - one person at our table waited a staggering 2 hours for her salmon tower, and we had to remind 5 servers about it. My avocado toast with poached eggs was a disaster - it came with just one egg instead of the promised two, lacked radish, and cost a ridiculous $18. The disappointment was as overwhelming as the incompetence of the staff. The ambiance was also horrible.

I ate here the last time I was in Chicago - everything was delicious. The bison meatballs, the short rib and the oysters were the standouts. We are planning a trip back in August - is it too soon to make a reservation? :)

Very decorative for Christmas! Fun place for drinks and apps are good, not great. Sort of overpriced.

This was my second time dining for brunch. I think they may have been overwhelmed in the kitchen. The hash browns in the picture were inedible. They were cooked in burnt grease and they smelled like burnt grease. We asked for ketchup and syrup and our food was cold by the time we received it (after having to remind the waitress). Music and vibe were great, but the food was very disappointing. The waitress was nice, but it's clear the entire staff was very overwhelmed.

I visited this place for happy hour. When I walked in the hostess was on her phone ( not welcoming) .I chose to sit at the bar & bartender wasn't certain of the happy hour deals. I asked her the the oysters & where they were from & she had no clue. She said east & west coast . I requested her to find out & she never came back with an answer. I had to ask her again & she got a vague answer from an African American gentleman who probably was the manager. Moving to the happy hour burger , she didnt know she had to take the temperature on a burger. The oysters were terrible, not fresh & gone bad & not shucked to order. The burger was good though. The happy hour spritz were watererd down & had no taste. The management need to train your staff better .Update the staff of daily specials & oysters. On the positive side the bartenders were friendly . We did like the photographs taken & printed out for us. But will not return back as there are better spots in the city that do better dollar oysters for happy hour.

Decided to make a reservation after seeing an influencer post about Hubbard Inn's Wednesday deal: Bruschetta board and a bottle of wine for $40! I have never been to Hubbard Inn but was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and the service was great! Downstairs is the restaurant and upstairs is a cute/fun cocktail lounge with a great DJ and bar! I went upstairs after my meal and had a good time dancing and listening to music. My friend and I ordered the Pinot Grigio bottle along with the smoked salmon, tomato & ricotta, and goat cheese & fig jam bruschetta. Later we also ordered the salt & pepper calamari, the crab & artichoke dip, blueberry shandy, and a lychee cocktail. First off, I will say the drinks were good! The Pinot Grigio was very good! Not too sweet and not too dry and I loved the lychee drink. However, the food just didn't have the bold flavor I was expecting given what we ordered. It was not tasteless, it just wasn't anything to write home about. I won't be back for the food but I will definitely come back for the drinks and the cocktail lounge upstairs!

Always a great time here! Delicious food and always cute. Went for martini fest and they came through so well. Ate dinner after and the staff was on point and great vibes.

The food is ok, but at a higher price than it should command. You're really paying for the vibe. The nightlife is cool, with a DJ, and it's a fun place to be, but the service was bad. It's 26 degrees and they put us at a tiny table with bar stools. They couldn't move us to a space with chairs to put our coats or take our coats.

My friends and I went to Hubbard Inn for Ladies Night and what a time it was! Our server was so bubbly and considerate. She recommended drinks and was seriously so attentive. My friends didn't order food but a girl was hungry so I ordered a Prosciutto pizza which was fantastic! I am a sucker for a flatbread and it was the perfect size. I especially loved the arugula on it. The only complaint about it was it was hard to chew into but it was nothing I couldn't handle. The drinks were very good. We got 2 free bottles of champagne because we came to the ladies night/ won in the raffle! I also got the pear mule which was super tasty. The vibes were immaculate on ladies night. It was good music, and the raffle was so fun because we won a bottle of champagne, and my other friend won a free facial! We will definitely will be back.

This place really goes all out with the lights and the ambiance during the holidays. They have fun events like building a ginger bread house or ornament making. The charcuterie board was meh. However the shrimp ap and the sliders were incredible .

My friend chose our next meetup to be at Hubbard Inn. I've been here a couple times and thought it was just OK. They have decent happy hour deals like $1 oysters, which apparently limits a dozen per person and since there were 3 of us, we ordered 3 dozens. The wine with the bruschetta boards was pretty good for happy hour pricing. The server was really patient with us cause my friend was running late so we took a while to order food. The place wasn't super packed when we went on a Wednesday evening after working. I love that this place always come up with fun pop up events which leads to me coming back pretty often compared to other restaurants/bars in the area. I'll most likely come back if I'm in the area. Not sure if I'll recommend it to people who are out of town as it's just another restaurant/bar to chill with friends after work or on the weekends.

Came for brunch and my first time here to enjoy brunch. I will say, the brunch menu isn't hefty and too much to select from. (One page). But I was able to find something that was savory and sweet, also can't go wrong with chicken and waffles. I quite enjoyed my meal because it was hot and chicken had a nice crunch. Our waitress was sweet and attentive to our needs. Kept up with our bottomless and juices as well. Clean establishment with nice music.

We made a reservation for Restaurant Week on a Saturday night at 7 p.m. We arrived at an empty restaurant and was told that they didn't have any tables so we would have to sit at the bar. We said ok, and went to the bar. I then got up and asked the hostess what good was my reservation? She had no answer and made no attempt to make it right. I went back to the bar and we decided to leave because they certainly didn't want us there. Total ineptitude by the hostess. So we left and popped into Roka who was fully booked, but found us a little spot we could have dinner. Now that's the way a restaurant is supposed to react. Not the way Hubbard Inn did. So, skip Hubbard Inn, and go somewhere where you are appreciated and wanted.

I love the oysters for happy hour! Love that there are West coast and east coast oyster options. During hh, they only let you get 12 oysters per person total (or at least that's what we were told) so we weren't able to order more oysters after that. Just wish there were better cocktail options for hh. And service always seems to be a miss whenever I go...

I was double charged on my check and looked like the manager fixed it, but he did not and I have called and left several messages to get this resolved and no one had returned my phone call. it's now been a month. and still no response. horrible customer service from both manage and bartender.

Hubbard Inn is always a cute spot to hit up on a night out. My college club decided to rent out the spot for our formal. The upstairs area features a bar, some seats on the side, and many flowers to decorate the space. I think usually the lights are off but they kept them dim for our event which made for cute pictures. Our rental also came with seemingly nonstop food - fried chicken and beef sliders, mac n cheese, pizza - which was surprisingly quite yummy! I personally did not order any drinks but my friends mentioned they were quite expensive. Overall, I had a good time!

I came here for a resident event with a few friends since we each had free drink coupons. The drinks, and the food we ordered along with it was disappointing, and also the service while we're at it. The drinks were really basic, they didn't seem to have many liquor or syrup options. I personally opted to request for a spirit free option, but the server had no suggestions to offer me which left me having to guide the conversation asking what syrups, sodas, shrubs, etc. they had on hand. I'd expected the server to at least ask the bartender for some guidance to make it easier on the me, the customer, but I was left to piece the puzzle together on my own which took awhile. It didn't help that it was also extremely busy and loud, so I felt that I had to yell over the noise just to communicate with the server. Since it was busy, our drinks and food took awhile to arrive, and the server also seemed distracted with all that was going on in the space. Not the biggest fan of this place.

Um... No! This place is absolute chaos. Is it a bar? Is it a restaurant? is it a club? Is it private events? Well the night I went for dinner it was all the above in the same space. Two different types of music playing at the same time, Techno from one party and Pop for another at such high volumes. Imagine trying to form a thought while being tortured by LOUD competing music. This is a place where the owners have lost sight of whatever vision they had. They are attempting to make $$$ from any and all possible clientele, without taking the customer's dining experience into consideration. We came here to have dinner, thinking it would capture the vibe of the beautiful pics on the site. Well it's so many ppl in the space you can't actually see the space. There was an 80s themed party upstairs, a wedding party in the lounge... literally a bride in a wedding gown with wedding guests, and a party up front that was sneakers, sweatshirts, super casual. CHAOS! We arrived for dinner at 8pm ordered drinks, (yes it was already a chaotic scene). We were sat in the back booth, there was no light over these two booths at all. I had the Smoke Show, it was not at all smoky. It had so much sour mix their was nothing else to taste, then had the Summer Lovin it was overly sweet... drinks were horrible, basic AF! We ordered a bunch of appetizers, food was actually good, with the exception of the tuna poke (frozen, not fresh, fishy smell/taste). Server was nice enough, but not great, good thing we didn't need much because she didn't check often, failed to tell us the kitchen would be closing. We found out when we went to order dessert. The bathroom experience was creepy, it's downstairs, passing several doors before getting there, I happened to be down there alone, my advice is to not go down there alone... Also if there were an emergency it'd be hard to get out, they've packed the path in/out with cocktail tables. For 5 appetizers, a salad, and 6 drinks feeding 3 ppl was $271 while receiving a migraine from the music. Overall, I will never return, this was a horrible experience. Ppl who find this place interesting are lemmings, this is the quintessential metaphor of IG Reels, pretty in pics, does not translate in REAL life.

Hubbard Inn is such a fun and lively place! I went solo on Friday night and from the music, to others celebrating and enjoying their night it was so lively. I will add it was packed, social distancing was not a thing! It was so packed that the service suffered, and I did make a reservation in advance however, due to being overbook/busy they did not have a table for me :( they did make space for me at the bar which isn't a big deal however, I was bummed because in sitting at the bar, people were reaching over me, crowing around me to grab a drink while I was eating which isn't my favorite thing. If you are making a reservation maybe call in advance to ensure they have a table for you! I ordered a burger and a few drinks and loved them all! (not to be confused with their special for bottomless drinks and burgers which is offered on their instagram) -- I ordered the Hubbard Inn burger and it was GREAT the goat cheese and bacon jam really took it to the next level. Their blueberry Moscow mule was also my favorite drink of all those I tried. Overall, Hubbard Inn was great! It is nice and lively for a night out with friends and the food was top scale for a bar. It can get busy so plan ahead-- I would love to give this place 4 or maybe 5 stars but not having a reservation for a table I booked a week in advance was disappointing. I still highly recommend.

Had the best dinner at Hubbard Inn. This Happy Hour Menu is more than generous . Portions are generous. A genial and easy-going atmosphere pervades. Ellen was our server and was attentive throughout our stay. Andre , the manager was spot on highlighting his staff and restaurant amenities. Definitely will be returning for easy going , hassle free dining in River North.

Hubbard Inn, while I haven't personally stayed there, sure does seem like a business that knows how to stay classy! will check out next time in Chicago

Had tons of fun! Great service, drinks and food was yummy. Our server was super friendly and the atmosphere was lively.

We made a reservation for Easter brunch. When we arrived, the hostess told us we were going to have to sit up stairs which is a "a club area with loud music" (her exact words and definitely not where we want to spend brunch on Easter!) She tried seating us in couch made for 2 people despite having a reservation for 3 and was very snarky when I brought up the fact that we couldn't all fit on the couch. When we asked to be seated downstairs instead the other waitress rolled her eyes at us and made it very evident she was annoyed in her tone of voice. We ended up having to wait another 30 minutes despite our reservation because they refused to seat us at one of the 7 booths that were open. The food was not worth the price and not worth being treated so rudely. However, we got our moneys worth in bottomless mimosas.

My now husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at Hubbard back in October. It was nothing short of amazing and everything we could have asked for! From the setup and food to the responsiveness and communication of the staff-- all the details were PERFECT!

Pretty good...Decent food, nice ambiance, great drinks, ok service. We went during happy hour and everything was great! My only complaint was the server...she wasn't that attentive and was goofing off a lot of the time (talking to staff or in her phone), but it was slow so it wasn't too much of an inconvenience!!

Went to Hubbard Inn for a birthday brunch, and it was definitely the place to go to for a good time. We had a party of 10 on a weekend, so we were tabled at the lounge area of the restaurant. Definitely the best place in the restaurant for pictures, but eating there was kind of awkward. The tables there were low to the ground and mismatched because of their eclectic aesthetic. Therefore, some of us had to eat on our laps, while others used side tables near us to eat our meals. Otherwise, the music was great, and a perfect way to amp up your brunch/bottomless mimosa experience. Played a lot of club remixes that your group will definitely sing along to. If you're mainly there to drink, order the loaded tater tots as your entree, but if your hungry for a meal, the chicken and waffles or French toast will definitely fill your stomach to the brim.
