The deciding factor that has influenced my decision to remain at 1205 Collection is the front desk staff. I really can’t emphasize enough how dedicated the front desk and support staff are. Deserving of special recognition and the utmost praise are Davonte and Hicham. These two gentleman are among the finest apartment staff, and consistently go above and beyond in their commitment to excellence, ensuring daily customer service and safety is delivered at the highest standard. Even more impressive is their attention to detail to ensure things like package delivery, food service, maintenance, and visitor access happens successfully and seamlessly. Their hourly teamwork is even more impressive—they are truly a dynamic duo, and represent a single point of failure for the service we expect at 1205.

Overall, I am very happy with everyone who works in this building. Especially concierge Davonte—he always provides outstanding service from beginning to end. He is professional, reliable, and incredibly attentive to every detail. What truly stands out about Davonte is his dedication and willingness to go above and beyond. He always handles every request with care, efficiency, and a positive attitude, making sure everything is done right the first time. His level of service makes a real difference and consistently exceeds expectations.

This is long overdue -- I so appreciate the desk/concierge team and security team. Most important is how wonderful they are to my dog. They treat him like a Very Important Pup every time they see us. We feel cared for and welcomed. Thankful for the whole team and especially Hicham, Mike, Hadeya, Erika and Davonte. Special shoutout also to Officer Smith for his attentiveness and for his help with the parking garage when the street gets busy and the narrow entrance presents extra challenges.

The reason I stay in this building is because of the great service of the front desk staff. In particularly, Davante is always a friendly, sympathetic, upbeat, hardworking presence when I get back home after a long day. He goes above and beyond for residents. There has never been a problem he hasn’t assisted with or solved. Give this man a raise!

I think the security/concierge Davonte is the best man to secure the comfort for the residents. He has an extremely balanced personality and he should appreciated for the value he brings to this buiding. From a 1-10, he is a 10. Also the Concierge Mr. HICHAM IS THE MOST RELIABLE PERSON WHO ALWAYS MAKES SURE THAT ALL RESIDENTS ALWAYS RECEIVE THEIR DELIVERIES. HE ALSO EXCEEDS HIS JOB BECAUSE HE TRAVELS EACH FLOOR EVERY DAY TO MAKE SURE ALL PACKAGES ARE SECURED. IF NOT HE SECURES THE PACKAGE AND BRINGS IT BACK TO THE MAILROOM. HE WORKS BEYOND THE SCOPE OF HIS JOB. HE ALSO SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED FOR THE VALUE HE BRINGS TO THIS BUILDING.

They want to market themselves as a luxury apartment, but do your research and they’re section 8. The new gym and carpet might trick you into thinking this is a decent place to live, but you’ll have neighbors who play their music until 3am and smoke in their apartments and the smell comes into your. Of course management has never done anything about any of the issues for over ten months. The buildings are not connected to the main sewer so if they miss a pickup the lobby and apartments smell like sewer. There is a general consensus among residents that this is a one lease and done type of place. Do not be fooled. Edited: Ty and Derek in the leasing office are responsive and respectful, but their hands are often tied so that cannot fully resolve issues. All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming. But a pleasant staff does not do enough to make up for what are still major deficiencies in a place that wants to market itself as luxury.

It all went downhill since Richard left. He was very attendant to the needs of residents. His attention to detail was amazing. After that? The quality of responsiveness plummeted. The light outside my room got broken and kept blinking on and off. That's a strobe light hazard and seizure risk for epileptic people. Multiple lights in my hallway outside apartments were broken too. Even on the 1205 side. One of my visitors called them "murder lights" because they look like the faulty wiring you'd find in a sketchy hotel and not a supposedly luxury apartment building. And you're charging me a "Damage Fee" for moving out when you never fixed this? The showers turned cold on my end of the building, all because a part had to be sourced all the way from Europe and had to take days to ship? Build American, buy American? What a joke. An icebox broke and it kept me awake for weeks until someone fixed it. And I'm still being charged a full month despite vacating it early and the building not having leased my old unit? Ironic that when you need units filled, you're so eager to offer two months off but unable to fill it despite early vacancies.

Hicham is truly exceptional. He is incredibly attentive and makes a genuine effort to remember each tenant, always stepping in wherever he can to make our lives easier and more convenient. His attitude is consistently positive, and every time I see him at the concierge desk, I know I’m in good hands. He brings warmth, reliability, and care to everything he does. Thank you, Hicham!

The unsung heroes of this property are the staff. They have been forced to be the "middleman" between tenants and the building owners/property management company during a pandemic. Dereka Moore, the general manager, has been phenomenal and really responsive to all of our concerns. The building engineer Leo is extremely professional, courteous and responsive to any of our maintenance issues. The only negative thing I can point out is the turnover of the concierge staff. That is completely self-serving because concierge staff like Erica and Demetrius were so great at their jobs that they ultimately were promoted and moved on to other properties within the company. We just really miss seeing them. The building always manages to replace them with another concierge that is just as friendly, helpful and capable as the previous staff that sat at the desk. We all have had to make sacrifices during this pandemic and at times the rules implemented by the building may have been an inconvenience but it was in attempt to ensure the safety and health of all residents. I can't be upset about that. I didn't have a privileged upbringing not do I have a sense of entitlement like some of our residents. These are minor inconveniences and not oppression as some residents would have you believe.

Beautiful property, great amenities, and great staff. Request Nyeri she was super helpful and and knowledgeable.

My 5 stars are for conceirage and maintenance!! Yvette Day and Hicham are the best. They are always so welcoming, helpful and most importantly excited to see our pups! Anything you need you can ask of them. Maintenance is also on top of things. Any request put in they're there within a day. They come prepared and have fixed everything we needed promptly. Leasing on the other hand I would rate a 2. If not less. But thankfully once you've moved in your interactions with them are minimal.

Also the place constantly smells like a sewer. The stench comes and goes in waves filling my unit, the elevators and lobby at all times... I use my sinks, toilet and wash machine daily, so not sure how the smell would be coming from my sewage pipes unless it's coming through the vents of all the unrented units around me. Most of the time, it's a stench that lingers and your nose gets used to, but other times it's so bad that it makes me gag or gives me a headache. Maintenance can't figure out where it's coming from since the smell spreads and isn't localized to a particular area near my sewage pipes. It's frustrating to live in what smells like a sewer hole. The apartment complex said it's a common complaint by residents and that they have been working on resolving the issue for months to no avail. Sounds like a major plumbing issue that is too complicated/costly for them to resolve.

While the location and views are great, our move-in experience and most things since have been difficult to deal with. We were locked out of our apartment because the battery in the locking mechanism had stopped working. We didn't get any indication that there was an issue. The property manager was unable to provide us with a solution even after we provided solutions to her and we were told they wouldn't work. We can't wait until our lease is up and it's time to move!

Bad management. They restrict every movement in amenities. For the price of the apartments, I recommend looking elsewhere in Navy Yards due to managements lack of concern for its residents.

Moved in around January and have no complaints. The concierge service is convenient and the amenities are great now that they are opened again. Watching baseball games from the rooftop is a definite plus.
