NYC’s Cult Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery Heads to Navy Yard - Eater DC

"Commons is a new spot in Navy Yard by Knead Hospitality + Design, featuring renowned pastry chef Umber Ahmad. The 9,000-square-foot restaurant, located at 1221 Half Street SE, will open in late 2019 or early 2020 and will combine Ahmad’s New York City bakery Mah-Ze-Dahr with an upscale diner. The two-story restaurant will have Mah-Ze-Dahr with its own space and a separate entrance, focusing on breakfast offerings. Meanwhile, Knead will handle lunch and dinner with a menu spanning hybrid Asian-Southern dishes and modern Mexican food.
